Hi Victor,

for more detailed infos on multiple myeloma (MM) contact
the HEM-ONC mailing list:

          Address – lists…@sjuvm.stjohns.edu
Subject – leave blank (or put a dash, if subject is required)
          Message – subscribe hem-onc First-Name Last-Name

or have a look at the internat. myeloma foundation’s WWW page:

http://www.comed.com/IMF/imf.html

These sources of information are extremely helpful.

For your question:

I suppose that the use of cortisone is very common in MM therapies –
at least as (essential) PART of a chemo (such as in VAD where the "D" stands
for Dexamethasone).
I had a few rounds of this chemo – and though I did not really "like"
the DEX (other people do NOT have any problems) it helped me to get
into remission for now.

Feel free to contact me via email iff you need further information.

Good luck for your friend!
