records to anyone who has an open mind not you bastards who are only
interested in looking for negatives. By not putting up a fax number you
all show your true colors. Call my bluff, once and for all, am I a

I don’t think you need to violate your medical confidentiality. However, you
could ask your physician to write and post a brief note documenting these
    issues.

I would be happy to accept a note from any Phila. oncologist that you were
cured of cancer by soy extract, etc. as adequate proof. If your physician
didn’t want to post something, he/she could mail it to my office (the
address in on the Penn. Med. Society Web Page which I list soley as a means
of demonstrating that I really am a board-certified cancer doc).

As I’m not looking to make money from this newsgroup, I’m not asking you to
allow me to examen you or provide any other professional opinion..

I don’t think that the nastyness seen in several recent posts is appropriate
    for anyone.

William, your dribble is getting more and more incoherent. I didn’t even
    understand half of the above.

Calm down, or you’ll get an apoplexy.

You may well be a cancer patient, William, and I’m happy to take your word
for it without seeing your medical records.

That doesn’t mean that Haelan works, or that the ACS supports Haelan, and it
doesn’t mean you have any right to come peddling your wares. Separate out
the issues, William, I know you can do it if you concentrate.

As for your opinion that I’m a "cheat, a fraud and a charlatan", and your
repeated accusations of racism or antisemitism, it’s like the rest of the

My husband drank one bottle of Haelan 85 from China, everyday, and then from
Louisiana, Haelan 95 for a total of nine months @ $30.00 a day.  Also had the

Unfortunately, Elva, the world seems to be full of such people

  16. admin says:

Tell Elva to get the name straight, it’s Haelan 851 and 951. It that
your aunt Elva Steph? Funny just when I press you for a phone number
good old aunt Elva appears. If there ia an Elva tell her that you take a
bottle a day for only 40 days not 60 months. If you get the tape it will
tell you this. The next time you put some one up to lying about Haelan
try to get the facts straight. Second we know that Chemo and Radiation
kill thousands of cancer patients every year. Only 15% of patients have
success, which mean the other 85% die. Would I recommend that patients
stop their chemo because 85%  are not successful, I think not. We know
nothing about Elva’s husband(if there is a Elva) What was his condition
when he started taking Haelan? Haelan wouldn’t bring the dead back to
life. Did he take the recommended supplements with Haelan?  Just like
Chemo, Radiation and Surgery, Haelan wouldn’t cure everyone. Is there
any conventional treatment that says we will guarantee a cure? We all
know patients that died taking conventional treatments, does that mean
we shouldn’t take them? Meanwhile Steph you owe me a fax number, don’t
try to weasel out of it again with aunt Elva

Where did you get this gibberish from, Willy?

95% of all non-melanoma skin cancers are cured, so we usually leave them out
of the stats to be fair to people like you who find data a bit boring.
Approximately 50% (45% to 55% depending on the papers you look at) of
patients with cancers other than non-melanoma skin cancers are cured by
surgery (about 25%), radiotherapy (about 20%) or chemotherapy (about 5%),
    alone or in combination.

Give your close friends at the ACS a call, and they can confirm these
figures. Ansd apparently they will at least listen to anyone.

What does Dorrance have to say, Willy?

Forgive me, William, if I’d known that your objective, impeccable source was
a "a cancer nurse who’s mother is being helped with Haelan", I wouldn’t have
doubted your figures for a minute.
Do you have any books in your house?

  20. admin says:

Yes and the figures I read were that only about 3% of bladder cancer
patients like myself live more than 5 years after taking CHEMO. I am
willing to call for a truce and really discuss things with you in an
open objective honest way if you are. As a cancer patient, and you know
that I am, I am interested in finding out the best ways of treating
cancer. I will acquiesce first by saying the best treatment is surgery
if you can discover cancer fast enough. I would be willing to answer
your concerns honestly and openly. Speaking about books try reading The
Simple Soybean, by Mark Messina. There is just overwhelming evidence
that soy fights cancer. Read the NCI study. To say a soy product is
scam is inane and I would expect a more cogent argument from a
perspicacious guy like yourself. This fighting is disrupting the boards.
Haelan is no magic bullet, it is only an adjunct to a certain type of
regimen. If you continue to smoke and eat a lot of sugars Haelan
wouldn’t help. It’s a new year, let’s talk, really talk, but no insults,
or we will have to revert back to business as usual. As a cancer
patient, I spent many hours reading and trying to make the right choice.
It was very difficult. I even went to Robert Atkins. When it really
comes down to it you have the make the choice yourself. I tried many
treatments before Haelan. Get Dr Lorraine Day’s information, she is a MD
who went alternative. She even has pictures of her tumor on her site. I
have been a giver all my life, and I highly resent someone inferring
that I was connected with something that wasn’t Kosher. There are
products out there that are scams like the Aim company. Anyway the ball
is in your corner, I am willing to discuss not insult, or you?

  21. admin says:

William, I’m more than happy to call a truce, if you stop trying to sell
your stuff here, and you stop making outrageous claims about what it can do,
and you stop suggesting that the ACS or any other respected cancer
organisation supports Healan or soybean therapy, as they don’t.

  22. admin says:

This last post of  Will’s is one of the more reasonable posts in the last
two weeks on this board. I’ll try to add some facts and where I fit
    alternative regimens into my chemo.

    1. Bladder cancer is a family of diseases ranging from minimally invasive
papillary tumors (usually cured by transuretheral resection though they
often recur) through poorly differentiated invasive tumors. In most cases,
the pathology is "transitional cell" but for Egyptians afflicted with a
parasitic infection (Schistosomiasis) one sees a squamous cell morphology.
For poorly differentiated tumors, the degree of invasion through the bladder
wall is a critical feature. The last time I looked in DaVita’s Cancer
Management, less than 50% of patients with muscle invasive disease were
cured by radical surgery. Slightly better survival (65% five year disease
free survival) is quoted by Dr. Skinner in "Bladder Sparing Debate, Great
Chicago Shootout" available on http://www.cancernetwork.com. In the same article
(and there are several articles on bladder cancer available) 54% treated
with chemo/radiation in an effort to prevent radical cystectomy were alive
and disease free five years later, indicating that chemo is active in this
disease. I’ve had very good success with combined modality therapy for
locally advanced bladder cancer, and even cures in some patients with
    distant metastasis.

    2. Chemotherapy is often difficult for patients to tolerate, particularly
regimens like m-vad (the standard regimen used in advanced bladder cancer).
Alternative therapies can lesson the toxicity, and help patients tolerate
therapy. Potentially useful agents include Essiac tea as an antinauseant,
St. Johns Wart (depression is a common problem in cancer), but regimens must
be taken with care. Some alternative drugs are MAO inhibitors and can cause
severe complications (for example, the "rocket fuel" used to promote caloric
intake). Antioxidants may decrease the activity of radiation.

While it is reasonable, harmless, and potentially helpful to add alternative
medicine to standard care, sometimes it just goes too far.  Some regimens
(like coffee enemas, etc.) are promulgated as curing alternatives to
standard therapy. I know, as a medical scientist that chemotherapy will not
cure every cancer. To see a patient, in the name of "hope" spend their last
days and last dollars on a hoax is cruel. And to see a patient go from
curable to incurable because they wasted six months in some nonstandard
    clinic is worse.

Soy extracts vary tremeondously in their composition. Many contain
phytoestrogens with some progesteronic activity as well. Hormones have long
been recognized for their value in increasing caloric intake (the HIV
community pushed the acceptance of high dose MEGACE on the stodgier members
of the medical community, and the use of androgens to improve caloric intake
goes back to Brodsky and Roda, Cancer Chemotherapy III, 1980

In short, it would seem that Will has had a good result from standard
therapy supplements with a soy based regimen. Am I correct Will ?? It should
be noted that I’m extrapolating from Will’s letters since I haven’t reviewed
    his chart.

BTW, the American Society of Clinical Oncology plans a session on
alternative therapy at it’s next meeting.
