PC-Tumor BBS Pathology Images on WWW

We have begun placing the excellent tumor pathology JPEG images from
PC-Tumor BBS (407-234-1287) on our Laboratory Medicine/Pathology WWW
site <http://fester.his.path.cam.ac.uk/big/synapse/000p0025.htm>.  It is
a slow process as there are over 800 images. Thus far we are into the
B’s, twenty-four more letters of the alphabet to go!  I have listed
below the images there thus far.  We have not sharpened and color
corrected the images, so they are exactly as you would find them on the
BBS.  Many need no correction of any kind.  We plan eventually to offer
sharpened, color-corrected images for the ones requiring correction, but
if you want to try it yourself and have Photoshop, the correction on the
first image would be: red +36, sharpen (unsharp mask, 1.0 pixels) 72%.

You will find the access from the main page under Resources and the
designation "A variety of applications and resources that may be of
interest, including a selection of pathological images. Please Click
Here."  The direct URL for the subpage the images are on is
<http://fester.his.path.cam.ac.uk/big/synapse/000p031q.htm> but this
bypasses the access counter on the main page so we don’t get to know
about your visit!

Many thanks to John Minarcik sysop of PC-Tumor BBS (407-234-1287) for
providing these excellent images.

All the best. – Kim

I want to tell you how wonderful it is that you are making current
information so readily available.  Last night, maybe in my sleep, I
heard about a new drug to be soon released for diabetics. Since I am
extremely carbo sensitive, this drug could be of great use to me.

I had forgotten the name of said drug, but it took me almost no time
to find information about "Precose" (generic Acarbose).

Thank you again for providing such valuable information.
