To whom it may concern:
My name is Robert Thoburn and I am a third-year biology (pre-medicine)
student at the University of Waterloo. Currently I am searching for the
latest information concerning the use of viruses in gene therapy,
specifically, the treatment of cancers. This is in an effort to complete
a poster project for a survey virology course I am taking this term. I
would greatly appreciate any relevant references, articles, names of
researchers to contact, etc. which would assist me in discussing how
viruses are being used in gene therapeutic practices.Unforunately, I am
unable to receive e-mail, though I may be faxed at (519) 885-3515.I
apologize for this inconvenience.
  Thank you very much,

  Robert W. Thoburn.

    Hello,

My mother just went for a mammogram followed by an ultrasound scan. She
    was given the following report:

    ********
    Bilateral mammography report.

Mammograms were performed in compressed craniocaurdal (cc) and compressed
    oblique (OL)
projection. The left oblique magnification view was also done. There is
asymmetric increase in density in the left breast at about 12 oclock
position showing parenchymal deformity. No microcalcification is seen.
Ultrasound of the left breast did not show any discrete mass lesion in
this region. The right breast has normal fibrofatty stroma.
    ********

Unfortunately, no one at the hospital explained what the report meant in
layman’s terms. All they said was to "Go for surgical evaluation to see
if a biopsy was required". As a result, everyone is very worried.
I would appreciate it if someone could provide a layman’s interpretation
of the above result. Please email it to me at:

    Thanks in advance.
