My father recently died from an asbestos related disease. The insurance
companies on behalf of Fibreboard have set up a compensation pool for
those exposed to the asbestos in Fibreboard products. This is known as
the Ahearn Global Class Action Settlement Agreement.
These products were used in the building construction industry from 1928
to 1971. They were used in insulation, drywall, roofing, floor and ceiling
tile, mastics and fire retardant materials. Known brand names include Air
Cell, Caltemp, Caltherm, Fibreboard, Kaylo, LK, Prasco, Pyrocal and
85% Magnesia.
To proceed with filing a claim for my father’s estate, I need to document
the use of Fibreboard products in Canada and in Alberta in particular.
Does anyone in construction or the building materials supply trade
recognize these products? Thanks for any help you can provide!
